A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
